The Challenge
In mid-2022, Going Solar was struggling to generate enough leads to meet its ambitious growth targets. Joe Brennan, aware of the potential in the domestic solar PV market, realised that their current marketing efforts were not sufficient.
Without in-house expertise in SEO or Google Ads, they needed a reliable partner to help them scale their marketing efforts effectively.

Alongside the paid campaigns, Social Gravity developed a content marketing plan that included the creation of location-specific pages and informative blog posts. This effort aimed to capture local search traffic and establish Going Solar as a trusted authority in the Dublin area.
Social Gravity launched a strategic Google Ads campaign with an initial budget of €1,500, focusing on Search Ads, Display Ads, and YouTube Ads. These campaigns were customised to attract high-intent traffic and generate immediate leads.
To streamline lead management, Social Gravity integrated a CRM system using Monday.com. This system allowed the team to track leads, monitor conversions, and automate routine tasks such as customer follow-ups and quote generation.
Results
The combined efforts of paid advertising and SEO began to show results quickly:
Lead Generation: By the third month of the campaign, Going Solar saw a significant increase in leads, receiving 63 leads in that month alone. By early 2023, the numbers were even more impressive, with 257 leads in January and 290 in February.
Conversions: In the last 90 days, Going Solar generated 12,000 website sessions, resulting in 751 conversions. These results were largely driven by their Google Ads campaigns, which accounted for 75% of the leads.
Cost-Effectiveness: The cost per conversion decreased over time, providing a strong return on investment. However, achieving such results required a significant ad spend, with €10,000 invested in Google Ads.
